GETTING STARTED As a person who knows that she couldn't describe her way out of a paper bag, I decided to make a handy guide for any first timers here at Wasted Skies. All you have to do is read the steps below, and you'll be role playing in no time! If you still have any questions after reading this, feel free to PM me, Izzehkins, or email me at izzehkins@gmail.com PHASE ONE 1) Look around. Look all around Wasted Skies, maybe stalk us for a few days if you must. Take your time and make sure that this is the kind of site that you want to join and will be active at. 2) Read. Be sure to read the rules, plot, species information, and FAQ before joining up. Once again make sure that this is a site that you'd enjoy joining. 3) Make an OOC account. Sign up on the Out of Character Board under whatever name you want to go by. This will be the account that you use for site wide contests, creating characters, and doing lots of other important things as well as playing games or getting to know other members. You will not be role playing with this account. PHASE TWO 4) Make a character. Go to the "Create Your Character" board on the OOC forums. Read the information there, and decide if you want to make a human or a shapeshifter character. Once you've decided, copy the correct form and paste it into a new thread in the Create Your Character board. 5) Fill out the form. Simply fill in all the information about your character located in the form. You may want to have the website open in case you need to look stuff up. Just do this part to the best of your ability. 6) Wait. A staff member will review the character that you want to create and make sure that it fits all of the rules. When your character has been accepted, the thread you started will be moved from the Create Your Character board to the Accepted Characters board. PHASE THREE 7) Make your character's account. Once you've seen that your character has been accepted, head on over to the IC boards. There you will make a new account with your character's full first and last name as a username. 8) Begin role playing. Just search around the IC boards for a thread that you'd like your character to join, or create a new thread for other people to join. You can start RPing and continue RPing now. REMINDERS 1) For each character that you make, you need a different IC account. In other words, if you want to make a second character, just start at Phase Two instead of Phase One. 2) Remember to switch accounts if you have more than one character. Don't make a reply with Bob on Susy's account. I will ask you to copy your post, and then I will delete it and ask you to post with Bob on Bob's account. I do take this seriously. 3) Unless you are a staff member you are not allowed to have an OOC account on the IC boards.
